Postdoc in Pure Maths at Oxford

We invite applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Pure Mathematics to work with Professor Vladimir Markovic. The post-holder will be based at the Mathematical Institute, University of Oxford, and will be supported by a Simons Foundation grant which ends on 31 July 2022. There are funds to support a position for a maximum duration of 18 months until the end of the grant.

The successful candidate will work on research projects in either low dimensional geometry/topology or geometric analysis. They will contribute to the activities of the research group, whilst also managing their own academic research and administrative activities.

Applicants will be expected to have, or be close to completing, a PhD in geometry, topology or a related area, and be able to contribute ideas for new research projects and research income generation. Excellent communication skills are essential, including the ability to write for publication, present research proposals and results, and represent the research group at meetings. Preference will be given to applicants with a PhD and/or research background in low dimensional geometry and topology, or geometric analysis.
