2 Postdoc positions in Mathematical Physics at Oxford

We invite applications for two Postdoctoral Research Associates with a comprehensive background in Mathematical Physics and/or Probability Theory, to work alongside Professor Jon Keating at the Mathematical Institute, University of Oxford. Both positions are full-time, fixed-term for 21 months, and the post-holders will be supported by an ERC Advanced Programme Grant: “Log Correlations and Random Matrices (LogCorRM)”.

The successful candidates will work with the research team and contribute to the overall scientific goals of LogCorRM. They will be expected to write up their results for publication, either singly or with co-authors, in a form that is appropriate for peer-reviewed scientific journals, whilst also managing their own academic research and administrative activities. They will participate in the dissemination of their research by presenting their results at meetings, giving seminars and attending scientific conferences or workshops.

Applicants will be expected to have, or be close to completing, a PhD in Mathematical Physics or Probability Theory, or related areas, and must be able to articulate ideas clearly and logically together with the ability to perform mathematical calculations in the area. They will have excellent communication skills, including the ability to write for publications, present research proposals and results, and represent the research group at meetings.
