Glasstone Research Fellowship in Science at Oxford

Applications are invited for a Glasstone Research Fellowship, tenable at the University of Oxford in the Department of Statistics. The fellowship will normally start on 1st October 2022. The prestigious Glasstone Research Fellowships in Science are supported by the Glasstone Bequest, which was set up to encourage scientists at an early stage of their career to follow their research interests at Oxford, one of the world’s leading science universities.

The post holder will conduct and disseminate original research, contribute to the intellectual life of the department, and gain some experience of teaching.

Applicants must hold a PhD/DPhil in Statistics, Probability or a related subject awarded by the closing date for applications. Preference will be given to candidates at an early stage in their research career and who have not already held a substantive independent fellowship. The successful candidate will have a publication record consonant with their experience and field of study, a strong research proposal, research interests complementary to the department’s activities, and breadth of experience across more than one academic institution (or the desire to obtain this).

Please note that the Department of Statistics is also recruiting two Florence Nightingale Bicentennial Fellows. Candidates are encouraged to consider applying for multiple roles, if appropriate, to maximise their chances of obtaining one of these competitive fellowships.
