Senior Lecturership in Stochastic Modelling, division of Mathematical Statistics, Lund University

The Centre for Mathematical Sciences at Lund University is seeking to appoint a senior university lecturer (associate professor) in the areas related to “stochastic modeling” and “spatial-temporal modeling”, who can also provide some new aspects in theoretically well-founded method development for data science applications. The position is based at the division of Mathematical Statistics, the appointment is within the Faculty of Science.

The position mainly entails research and teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, and includes supervision of master thesis and doctoral students. Teaching amounts to a maximum of 60% of full-time work, and some administrative tasks may be included in the employment. The exact content of the tasks, as well as the distribution between research and teaching may change over time.

The potential candidate is expected to contribute to one of the two research groups, “stochastic modeling” or “spatial-temporal modeling”, e.g. through research collaboration and seminar activities. He or she is also expected to actively seek external funding for the activities at the department, and to develop collaboration (including interdisciplinary) both within the university and with other universities and public bodies.
