Salary: GBP 32,236 – GBP 39,609 per annum

The Department of Pure Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate with Professor Timothy Gowers in the fields of Additive and Extremal Combinatorics.

Applicants should have, or be about to complete, a PhD in a relevant field and a strong research record; they may also have previous postdoc experience. They will be expected to be able to develop their own research projects, as well as to be willing to collaborate with Professor Gowers and other members of the Department. Candidates will be expected to plan and manage their own research and administration, with guidance if required. They must be able to communicate material of a technical nature and be able to build internal and external contacts. The post holder may also be asked to assist in the supervision of student projects, help with the development of student research skills, provide instruction or plan/deliver seminars relating to the research area.
