Professorship in Analysis (W2)

YOUR TASKS
The requirements for this position include experience and willingness to provide high-quality teaching, in particular in analysis, and mentor students of mathematics or business mathematics at all levels, and to participate in general tasks of academic administration. The successful candidate will also be expected to collaborate and connect with other scientists, preferably within the framework of our well-established research project SFB/TR 191 “Symplectic Structures in Geometry, Algebra and Dynamics“.

YOUR PROFILE
The ideal candidate should have a research portfolio in the broad areas of analysis and its applications (for instance in partial differential equations, calculus of variations, mathematical physics or dynamical systems), and they should also have demonstrated leadership by obtaining external funding and by having built up an internationally recognized research program.

The position is available as of August 1, 2024. Formal requirements are detailed in Section 36 of the Higher Education Act of North Rhine-Westphalia (Hochschulgesetz – HG NRW). As a rule, the teaching load comprises nine semester hours per week (i.e., two hours per week is one 90-minute course per semester).
