Koblenz-University-W2-Stochastics-Statistics-Professorship

Waiting to be filled in the Faculty 3: Mathematics/Natural Sciences at the Koblenz Campus of the Koblenz-Landau University is the appointment to a permanent

university professorship (W2 per LBesG) with civil service status

for mathematics with a focus on stochastics/statistics (m/f/d) at the Mathematical Institute at the next possible date.

The Mathematical Institute at the Campus in Koblenz offers bachelor and master programs (B.Sc./M.Sc.) with a focus on mathematical modeling, simulation and optimization, but also participates in study programs (B.Ed./M.Ed.) training teachers for primary, secondary and vocational schools. The main research topics of the institute are applied mathematics with a main focus on modeling, simulation and optimization as well as didactics of mathematics. Research is conducted in cooperation with national and international partner institutions as well as with the local teacher training colleges.

The professorship for mathematics with a focus on stochastics/statistics is expected to strengthen and complement the key research topics of the Mathematical Institute in modeling, simulation and optimization, and should be able to establish joint research activities within the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, and the Faculty of Computer Sciences.
