Full Professor (W3) in Algebra and Number Theory

We are seeking outstanding applicants for a research and teaching position commencing on 01.08.2021. The research profile should include areas in algorithmic algebra and extend and strengthen the research fields already present in the Department of Mathematics. Possible topics include representation theory, algebraic number theory or algebraic geometry.
Collaboration on large scale collaborative research preojects such as CRC-TRR 195 ‘Symbolic Tools in Mathematics and their applications’ is expected, coopeartion with other departments of the faculty, other faculties of the university or institutions is desired. The duties of this professorship include an adequate participation in covering the teaching obligations of the Department of Mathematics. Successful grant applications are expected.

A doctoral degree is required; additionally, Habilitation (post-doctoral lecturing qualification), an exemplary record of research achievement as an assistant / an associate / a junior professor or university researcher and/or an outstanding career outside academia are highly desirable. Ability in and commitment to teaching are essential. The application should include supporting documents regarding success in teaching. German is not necessary to begin but will be expected as a teaching language within the first 5 years.
