Administrative Assistant (f/m/d) (Ref. 23/15) at WIAS, Berlin, Germany

The Weierstrass Institute for Applied Analysis and Stochastics (WIAS) is an institute of the Forschungsverbund Berlin e.V. (FVB). The FVB comprises seven non-university research institutes in Berlin which are funded by the federal and state governments. The research institutes belong to the Leibniz Association.

MaRDI (Mathematical Research Data Initiative https://www.mardi4nfdi.de) is the mathematical research data initiative within the framework of the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI – https://www.nfdi.de).

The MaRDI administrative office is located in WIAS is looking for a

dministrative Assistant (f/m/d)
(Ref. 23/15)

to start as soon as possible.

The candidate will work at WIAS, in Berlin, alongside the Scientific Co-ordinator, Finance Administrator and our two Senior Scientists.

The work tasks include:
· Establishing, maintaining and managing a progress reporting system with the MaRDI Task Area Representatives.
· Providing administrative support. This would include following up on outstanding tasks, event organisation, bridging gaps in workflows.
· Onboarding of new staff members as well as being the contact point for the MaRDI collaborative platform: Email, GitLab, Rocket.Chat. MaRDI Cloud
· Representing MaRDI in NFDI meetings.

We are looking for a candidate who:
· has a Bachelor’s degree in any scientific discipline,
· has an interest and/or some experience in project management within science,
· can take initiative and is adaptable,
· is also comfortable working in German.

The working hours are 19,5 hours per week and the position is initially limited until December 31, 2024 with the possibility of an extension.
