EMS-EWM Summer School Apollonian Circle Packings, Institut Mittag-Leffler, 2014

Applications are due by 15 January 2014, and successful applicants will be notified by mid-February.  Female and male graduate students and postdocs are encouraged to apply at the official IML website here (scroll down to “How to apply”): Apollonian Circle Packings | www.mittag-leffler.se.

From  23-27 June 2014 the Institut Mittag-Leffler is hosting a summer school on Apollonian Circle Packings, with guest lecturers Elena Fuchs (Berkeley) and Hee Oh (Yale). This summer school is organized by Alina Bucur (UCSD), Pirita Paajanen (Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute) and Lillian Pierce (HCM), and sponsored by the EWM, EMS, and NTF. The aim of the European Women in Mathematics summer school is to provide a stimulating intellectual environment for female and male PhD students and postdocs from different countries and different mathematical disciplines to learn new mathematics (outside the scope of their own research) and to meet new colleagues.

The historic Institut Mittag-Leffler will provide housing and breakfast and lunch to all participants; very limited travel funding may be available in exceptional circumstances.

Scientific Focus: More information about the format and scientific focus of the summer school can also be found on our informational webpage:
