Open call for postdoctoral position in the NCN Sonata grant
The Institute of Mathematics of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IM PAS) announces a competition for a postdoctoral position within the NCN Sonata project “Function spaces for local smoothing”, led by Dr. Jan Rozendaal. The project concerns the construction and application of new function spaces in the study of local smoothing for wave equations. The position does not involve teaching duties. The starting date is planned for 2025, though the exact date is negotiable.

Selection date: before October 1st, 2025
Preferred employment period: November 1st, 2025 – June 30th, 2026.
Terms and Conditions:
1. Duration: 8 months,
2. Salary: approximately 10,140 PLN (gross) per month,
3. Location: Warsaw.
Requirements:
1. A PhD in mathematical sciences obtained before the start of employment,
2. Research experience in harmonic analysis or microlocal analysis,
3. Excellent command of English (spoken and written).
4. Meets the requirements specified in the documentation for the NCN SONATA 17 competition (https://www.ncn.gov.pl/ogloszenia/konkursy/sonata17) for a post-doc position.

2. A description of research plans,
3. At least two letters of recommendation.
